Locomotion!  I made this quilt for a friend who recently retired.  I found several images of engines: two were old photos, one a graphic image, and I combined the features I liked best into my own drawing.  I fused the white, then used silver metallic thread to highlight the wheels, front and rails.  I like the way it turned out, and it pushed me to do something out of the ordinary for me.

Wow! It's been a year since my last post!

I can't believe it!  I keep telling myself I need to post more, and in the blink of an eye, a whole year has passed.

This is a  detail picture of a recent piece called "Submerged".  I pieced the background, then cut stencils out of freezer paper and used Shiva PaintStiks to paint the image.  Then, quilted the piece.

It is currently hanging at the Riverviews Artist Co-op Gallery in Lynchburg until the end of August.
